Can a Nigerian Girl Love a Broke Guy
I am not saying Nigerian girls are materialistic. Neither am i trying to prove that Nigerian girls date guys solely because of money. But let’s face facts girls nowadays mostly weigh a guy by the size of his wallet and if his pocket is not deep enough most if not all of the times they turn down the offer of such relationships. It’s not a new scene in universities i Nigeria where you see girls going head over heels for guys with cars. The intimidation is real and strong. I have a friend who deeply had a crush on a girl in my school and when he asked her out. She told him that she liked him but she could not date him because he had no car. Now this guy is a student just like her probably depending on his parent’s for cash. And here is a girl asking him to get a ride before he can date her.
It’s a pity that girls have placed the financial capability of guys so high that they have ignored the means of income of these guys. Am not generalizing but these days girls don’t even care how and where and where you got your money as far as you have those notes to spend on them they’ll follow you. A while ago my neighbour broke up with his girlfriend and what caused the break up. The girl told him that she could lead him to some herbalists who would prepare some portions for him so that he could have money. The guy was broke and the girl could no longer be patient or bear it. Since her friends were changing phones and changing clothes bought for them by their boyfriends she wanted the guy to do the same.
Those days are long gone where girls date because of love or because of the potentials they saw in guys. Nowadays the average Nigerian girl dates and even sleeps around carelessly because of some little naira notes. A visit to any Nigerian university campus would totally clear your doubts.
Obviously there are some good eggs who are not primarily after your money but these girls are getting fewer by the day. Now if a girl can date a guy because of money is there anything wrong with that girl sourcing for money by herself in a legitimate way. I know a handful of girls who have some little business establishment by the side even as students. Or could it be that i am wrong and because girls are regarded as weaker vessels they should depend on guys for money and their upkeep. Some of these guys feel the pains and sometimes they prefer to be your boyfriends not your fathers.
Well this is the 21st century very few guys are looking for slay queens to take home to mama. Instead they are looking for a woman who also has an idea of making money not only spending money.
What do you think about this article? Are Nigerian Girls really materialistic or is it the guys that need to hustle harder ? let’s hear from you in the comment box. It goes a long way in encouraging me to write more and better. Thank you.
